About store

At Open Door Tea, we believe a simple cup of tea has the power to bring people together, inspire wellness, and create meaningful moments of connection.

Founded in 2016 by Kasia Lindeberg, Open Door Tea began as the realization of a lifelong dream: creating a welcoming space where people could discover the healing traditions of tea while building community. After emigrating from Poland to the United States and earning a degree in nutrition, Kasia spent years immersed in the wellness industry, developing a deep appreciation for herbs, natural health, and the role tea can play in supporting both body and mind. That passion eventually led to the opening of Open Door Tea in Stratford, Connecticut.

From the very beginning, our mission has been about more than serving tea. We set out to create a place where people could slow down, connect with others, learn, and feel at home. Inspired by the concept of an "open door," our tearoom welcomes everyone—friends old and new, families, professionals, and tea enthusiasts alike—to share stories, conversations, and memorable experiences over a warm cup of tea.

Today, Open Door Tea offers a carefully curated collection of loose-leaf teas, herbal wellness blends, tea accessories, and specialty products sourced from around the world. Alongside our signature teas, we proudly create proprietary herbal blends crafted to support relaxation, wellness, and everyday enjoyment. Many of these exclusive blends can only be found through Open Door Tea.

Innovation and community have always guided our growth. During the challenges of 2020, we expanded online and introduced Virtual Tea Tastings, allowing people across the country to connect, learn, and share tea experiences together from their own homes. What began as a creative solution quickly became a beloved service that brought communities, teams, and families together during uncertain times.

Why Customers Choose Open Door Tea

  • Premium loose-leaf teas and handcrafted herbal blends
  • A wellness-focused approach inspired by nutrition and natural living
  • Educational tea experiences, workshops, and tastings

Sustainability and social responsibility are also important parts of our journey. From eco-friendly packaging initiatives like our innovative Tea Tube system to ongoing charitable giving and community support programs, we strive to make a positive impact beyond every cup we serve.

As we continue to grow, our purpose remains the same as it was on opening day: to create a thriving community where people can live, learn, and love—one cup of tea at a time. Whether you're discovering tea for the first time or have been enjoying it for years, we're honored to be part of your journey.

At Open Door Tea, every cup opens the door to connection, wellness, and community.
