Since 1949, Granatelli Motor Sports has been driven by a passion for speed, engineering, and American motorsports. What began with the Granatelli family's involvement in grassroots racing and hot rod culture has grown into a multi-generational performance brand serving racers, builders, tuners, and automotive enthusiasts around the world.
For more than 75 years, the Granatelli name has been associated with innovation, performance, and a relentless pursuit of horsepower. Today, Granatelli Motor Sports continues that tradition by designing, engineering, testing, and building high-performance automotive parts in Oxnard, California.
Three Generations of Performance
The Granatelli story began with brothers Joe, Vince, and Andy Granatelli and their early work in post-war Chicago's hot rod and racing community.
Their passion for performance eventually led to the creation of Grancor Speed Shop and involvement in some of the most innovative projects in American racing. The family's motorsports legacy became particularly well known through Indianapolis 500 competition, the STP racing program, and the development of innovative racing technologies.
That history established the Granatelli name as part of American motorsports culture and laid the foundation for the performance engineering business that followed.
In the later decades of the family's racing journey, J.R. Granatelli founded Granatelli Motor Sports and brought the family's performance knowledge into the modern aftermarket automotive industry.
The company developed products for computer-controlled engines and modern performance vehicles, including ignition systems, throttle bodies, electronic exhaust components, and high-output coil packs.
Today, the third generation continues the Granatelli tradition, combining decades of motorsports experience with modern engineering, fabrication, testing, and product development.

Built and Tested In-House
Engineering is only part of the Granatelli approach. We believe performance products should be tested in real conditions before they reach customers.
Our manufacturing and testing capabilities allow us to maintain close control over product development and validation. Dyno testing, fabrication, machining, and hands-on evaluation help us refine products and ensure they meet the standards expected by performance enthusiasts.
This in-house approach allows Granatelli Motor Sports to continue developing new products while maintaining a direct connection between engineering and real-world automotive applications.
