A great song can change the energy in a room, start a conversation, bring back a memory, or turn an ordinary gathering into an unforgettable night. AUXGOD was created to turn that experience into a game where friends, family, and party guests can battle it out with the songs they know and love.

The story of AUXGOD began on July 1, 2016, at a friend's Canada Day party.
Mike Rousseau was playing music from a Bluetooth speaker, moving between new-school and old-school songs and acting as the unofficial DJ. At one point, a guest suggested a music battle. Two teams were formed, and the hosts started calling out random categories for each team to answer with a song.
What started as an unstructured party moment quickly became something much bigger.
The next morning, Mike was still thinking about the game and all the songs he could have played. After searching online for something similar and coming up empty, he decided to create the game himself.
On July 2, 2016, development of AUXGOD: Hip Hop & RnB officially began. Just four months later, the first Kickstarter campaign was successfully funded with support from friends, family, and early backers.
From One Game to a Growing Music Collection
AUXGOD started with Hip Hop & RnB, but the idea quickly expanded.
As the community grew, AUXGOD brought in writers with deep knowledge of different music genres to create additional editions. Today, the collection includes Hip Hop & RnB, Pop, Soca & Dancehall, and Country editions, giving different groups a way to play the game around the music they know best.
Each edition is built around its own musical culture and references, while keeping the core AUXGOD experience intact.
How the Game Works
AUXGOD is simple to learn and designed to get people playing quickly.
One team takes the role of judges and draws a card. The card presents a musical challenge, and the other two teams compete by choosing and playing songs that best answer it.
The judges then choose the winning song and award the point. The judging role rotates throughout the game, keeping everyone involved in the action.
The game also includes special cards that can change the flow of a round, adding another layer of strategy and unpredictability.
Built for Real Parties
AUXGOD wasn't created around a theoretical idea of what a party game should be. It was born at an actual party.
Since then, the game has been played at birthdays, baby showers, holiday gatherings, family events, and countless other celebrations. The AUXGOD team says customers have shared videos of themselves playing at their events, providing a firsthand look at how the game brings groups together.
The idea is simple: put the phones down, turn up the music, and give everyone something to participate in.
More Than a Card Game
At its heart, AUXGOD is about music and connection.
You don't need to memorize complicated rules or spend a long time setting up the game. Draw a card, choose your song, and battle.
The different editions allow players to choose the musical world that fits their group, whether that's Hip Hop and R&B, Pop, Soca and Dancehall, or Country.
